Squidville Planning! [Co-Op build World, not Rp]
This is just a place to organise the construction of the underwater city/town, which is being made by Me, Veoline, and possible Kingnecromancer
First of all we need a name, Ideas are below:
Squidville
Glassroof
Dometown
Bottom Rock City
Secondly concerning the construction of the project I have made a prototype schematic below, Hopefull it should be well lit and flood resistant. The multiple doors will help reduce the effects of any flood that does strike!
1, 2 and 3 are dome-like houses, they are 3 high, before the roof starts to tilt.
4 is an aquarium which will contain sand, green wool plants, squids hopefully and a sandcastle! It is a cylinder in shape with a closed top!
4 and 5 are public areas, (Turned into Shops, mines, governmental offices, memorials etc) Please note, it possible for neither to be used as a mine, and to connect a mine to the Reef-wall, via a tunnel!
Black = Glass
Orange = Orange Wool/Sci-fi Material
Yellow = Torch
Brown = Wooden Door
Blue = Water
Thirdly we need to come up with the political system! Should we have a mayor? Or just all work together?
Fourthly we need to design a logo that is 16 x 16! I suggest it has a squid-like symbol on it, and has blue as a background colour!
My Designs, I like the second the most! Also the Glass Texture overlay could be replaced with what ever texture is used in the new texturepack!
Once the Logo is chosen I'll make a signature for all the residents of Squidville!

Fifthly I have built a skin which you can edit into your skin! Credit for Aegonian for the original skin!
Anyone have any queries/ideas?

Souns like a really good idea, Thunder. I will gladly help. Probably with the green plants, because I like burning cacti! Those squids, are really cool! But annoying. I was making Squid Mine, and They keep getting in! Did you find any Lapiz Lazuli yet?

how about the floor is made of The bottom, or , SPONGES? they dont do anything, but its fun!

Seeing as sponges become pillars in the Teturepack, I was thinking smoothstone or half steps for the normal flooring but have it possible for house owners to make there own floors! (Must get blue dye!)
We could also build a shop (we can trade stuff sell to outsiders) and a mine, like the houses as extra domes attached to the right-angle connection pipes.
Also do we want to be part of the ERTN network?
Jorgas, Helping with plants is good but could you also help with some glass... This is gonna take a lot!

How high will the city's highest point be? You'll have to find quite a deep sea to build a city in it, I think...
Oh, and sponges are sponges again, as the pillars looked awful. Anyone has an idea on what sponges should look like?

I have no idea, something that magenta isn't
I think about 7 high would be the cities highest point, (aquarium) and that could stick out of the water...
Either that or us lot are gonna have to dig an ocean deeper... Which sounds fun!

Okay Lapis Lazuri is as rare as diamonds but can be found in a bigger area...
Anywhere you can find gold... Layers 32 and below
Top of bedrock = 5
We need to mine out the layers
31 & 30 (32 and 29 Visible)
27 & 26 (28 and 25 Visible)
23 & 22 (24 and 21 Visible)
19 & 18 (20 and 17 Visible)
15 & 12 (16 and 11 Visible) Diamond Territory!
9 & 8 (10 and 7 Visible)
Below that would be hard due to bedrock
Aegonian, can you "trim" some unused chunks out of our map, to let them be regenerated with new stuff in? I,e Lapiz Lazuri

I meant using TNT to blow the ocean floor up. That would be weirder than an artichoke pudding...............

Blowing up the ocean surface is not such a great idea, since the water flooding would act very weird and TNT works different underwater.

TNT doesn't destroy blocks when submerged...
It can be done, since when a water pool is deepened the flowing doesn't break.
Plus I found somewhere deep enough! It's Marked with a Dirt Block with a torch on top, it is between the Creeper Condos and The Duckling!

We could attach the ETNT(is that right) To the top of the aquarium, then have a latter or staircase that goes down.

It would easier to build underneath...
And due to space estrictions it would have to be a micro-station, (Harder to get on from!)

It's all 1 level at the moment.
However should it be expanded upwards I will install water elevators!
We have discuss the ERTN... Maybe once we get it done
God this is hard to build!

Chicken cannon are possible atm, and cannons are generally frowned upon since they are too high tech...
Maybe if you had to reload manually then yeah!
Or maybe trebuchets!
