Post by thunderpants Sat May 25, 2013 8:03 pm

It's been brought to my attention that quite a few of us have this game? Would anyone like to do a scheduled game?

I am free for the rest of next week and I'm willing to play US times as, as far as I'm aware the others of us with it are Jorgas, Necro, Lunark and Spitfire(?) they're in the Thea group.

If we have a game after next monday, I'm sure I can rope Inty into playing as well if we want to fill out teams. I do understand that this may not be possible but would anyone want to take part?

Does everyone mentioned have g&k?
Should we play without pre-made teams, as to make diplomacy more interesting? Or do we do THEA canon teams?
Would anyone be interested in this event?
Bonus Points for THEA themed cities?

I would be able to play Civ, I think that's an excellent idea. I think that we should it should be FFA though. Makes it more interesting. Huge World, preferably large islands. THEA cities yes, Go for G + K if possible. Get rid of king as soon as possible so that he dosn't nuke.

How about we each play as a race from the Elithian Alliance original RP? So I could play as Indian as the Notix to show the fact we had a few megacities.

That and used Social Policies that fit so I would use, Tradition, Patronage, Order/Freedom, Rationalism, Commerce.

I'd probably play with Freedom, as it best fits the late Notix as opposed to when we started which was much more Order.

I had an idea, why not play using the RP factions from the current MC RP? I actually think they would fit into the game better.

So I would be either English or Ottomans.

If we are doing Minecraft RP/ Thea RP, I shall use Babylon, being not only my favorite civ but somewhat reflecting The Erokki/Erixians (I just noticed the similarity in the names).

No offence, but how does Babylon reflect the Erixians? The Babylonians have a tech advantage, as well as a special wall. I see the wall, not the Tech advantage.

Be prepared to face the wrath of Jorgas if you do not have an explanation for your civ choice (If I question it).

I will be the Netherlands, they seem quite... usefull. Sea Beggars represent the Norrgale navy, and the Polders as the magical farms. Happiness due to cultural growth as the cultural center of Yggmir?

Fighting as the Netherlands? You'd better win the battle, Jorgas Aegi happy
Also, I think we'll still go for Andrahamn as the Minecraft roleplay world's name: I think I have mentioned it in one or more of my books already, and changing that would mean rewriting the entire thing Razz

I won't be joining the battle (I don't have Civ 5), but this does sound very interesting! We should organize more of these events for various games!

So we have:
Necro in the Blue shorts as Babylon
Jorgas in the Orange as the Netherlands
And Me in Colour as ze Germans

Also Aeg I would recommend Civ 5 especially since the next expansion pack comes out this summer. Yes expansion pack, it's not just DLC. That's one of my main reasons for loving it, they keep adding DLC and Expansions.

EDIT: Actually I'm not keen on naval combat in Civ 5. So can I be Germany as the Pyrorks?
EDIT2: Aeg as you can't watch/take part in things as they take place, should I document the events as they go?

(Get my best old radio reporter accent on)

Day 1 of global crisis! As tensions escalate, research is made in all kingdoms. Babylon gets it's hands dirty with truffles, and Germany is more then content in settling as a banana republic, both metaphorically and literally. That sure is a lot of bananas. We fear only the worst for the aztecs and mayans, as they are little fish in a big ocean. (Okay I am really tired now)

The Netherlands makes the big ones (moneys) and lovingly cares for silkworms! As Kingnecro manages to get billions of great scientists, the Netherlands trails behind at 44% literacy to Kingnecro's 45%. Oh yeah, and the Netherlands has like a bajillion more people than everyone else.

Babylon are considered one of the best Civilizations in the game, tieing with Korea for most powerful Science Civilization. IE they normally win a science victory and out tech their rivals.

This combined with Necro's love of nuclear weapons in this game is probably why he picked them.

I'll admit, I'm playing Germany because I love the tanks in this game and the German Panzers are the most powerful. Germans are considered one of the best Civilizations for a Domination victory because of that and the Landsknecht which are cheaper, more powerful pikemen.

The Netherlands on the other hand are good for everything, getting half the happiness boost from traded away Luxuries, means that they can afford to export their goods across the world to make money without happiness issues. They also have an upgraded Privateer names the Sea Beggar which makes their Navy strong as this ship can capture enemy ships and is more powerful than the Privateers of other Civilizations. They also have the Polder tile improvement that makes use of the otherwise difficult Marsh tiles, allowing them to produce 3 food, 1 production and 1 gold from a tile that otherwise generates nothing and requires time and effort to be made useful.

Also contrary to Necro's previous statement, only now has Ryiin had an answer that in actually sensible.

Also, I apologize for not having been very active lately. I have quite a lot of homework, and one particular assignment has already cost me almost all of my weekend... And it's still not done! After this assignment, I have a couple more things to finish, but I should have a bit more spare time.
