Minecraft - An Elithian server?

Does anyone know or possibly even own the game 'Minecraft'?

I have bought the game myself, and I was thinking about creating an online server for the Elithian Alliance. However, I must first know if it's worth building one (if no-one owns the game, there's no use in creating a server for the Alliance), and if anyone likes my idea:

My idea was to make an RPG-Style server, in which we play as our Spore creatures (using self-made skins, though this only works for humanoids...), probably in a small village in Hymildia, Hyrolia. Your goal would be to gather materials and eventually build your own village, and possibly build even more villages or an entire city. Materials like redstone and diamond will be replaced by custom-build Hyverium (of different types, diamond would be Hyverocarbon, redstone would be Hyveroferrum) using my own texture pack, and paintings would show some of our planets and symbols.

So, to those who own the game (If there are any), what do you think?

@thunderpants: I'm sorry, our server is Alpha version, it's a lot more fun though
You should consider buying the Alpha version (it's nearly getting in Beta, and when it is, the price goes up).

@_IncoherentRain_: I'm not sure which kind of games you like, but most people think this game is worth buying it, both my brother and I did and we're satisfied

You should watch some YouTube vids (for example on the channel of SeaNanners), screenshots etc, but it's more fun to play it then watching it.
In most of the videos every block looks quite simple, but you can change the looks of every single block.

We've got a self-made texture pack (which changes the texture on all blocks, it suits to our self-made world, I recommend it), quite easy to "install". It's just a zip file you have to place in a map.

Try to finish the first Big City.
When MineCraft reaches Beta, and there will be (almost) no bugs, we'll turn on PvP, monsters and animals etc,
let the new people start in the town. When they got enough supplies gathered, they must choose a side (more cities will come) and the war will begin.

i cannot see how ruining others hard work is fun.Anyway, i made a perfect overlord tower in single,complete with water pumped of ground for a moat,walls,a quarry, and even windows in the tower, but then i realized that i did not log in, and lost everything. then i wept for a while.

Stop tempting me! I'm starting to get interested in this game! I checked some videos on Youtube, and it does look like quite some fun. But I might drop it after a few weeks like many other games I bought. But since it's the kind of game I like(strategy, civilization-building, simply building, etc...), maybe not. I'll see.

It's quite a simple game, but indeed, with some imagination you can do everything with it, from strategic civilication building to pig-riding races!
