Re: Civilization V
It took me a while to realise what you had changed. Maybe you should of Bolded it.
Re: Civilization V
Just as a note, this weekend everything that has to do with Civilization V (Except BNW) is 75% off. If your missing anything or don't have it (Aegonian) now is your chance!
Re: Civilization V
It's also a free weekend is it not?
And pre-ordering the next expansion, Brave New World gives you 10% off. It comes out July 12th.

Re: Civilization V
Played the free game earlier today, it's better than I had imagined! Just bought the gold edition, so I will be able to join you in future matches!
Re: Civilization V
That means I can have a game where the ping isn't 250 ms? Huzzah!
And not running unto 1am here? Huzzah!

Re: Civilization V
Great! We just need to finish our game(s?) before we can get da big Aeg on Civ. You might want to do some training though, because we're so good at Civ.

Re: Civilization V
Next weekend then? I only have a couple of small things to finish now, which have to be finished by Friday, so I'll have lots of spare time this weekend.
Re: Civilization V
Alright, that's fine with me.

Re: Civilization V
When will we start a match? Also, how exactly does Civ V multiplayer work? Is there one person hosting the game, and do you have to wait for each other to finish turns? I know some of my turns in singleplayer could take several minutes later in the game, when I had a large army to command.
Re: Civilization V
One person acts as a lobby leader. It is their responsibility to save the game as well as set the A.I and the map. As for if they host it, I am not 100% sure. I have noticed that when the host leaves the game, everyone gets disconnected, but that is usually when steam goes down. The leader can leave and everyone else can still play, as someone else is picked as lobby leader.
Everyone plays at the same time. So if I move my carrier next to jorgas's city, he will see it, meaning if you wait to move your units you might not evade danger, while you could also profit from the abillity to use the enemy's movements against them. So for instance, I have my carrier, which jorgas does not like, so he moves his sub next to it and attacks it. If I moved my carrier first, however, he would not be able to hurt it. This, as you see, adds a bit of real-time danger.
Finally, it is indeed quite common for late game turns to take forever, as this is the point where you have multiple cities that can pump units out like no one's business.

Re: Civilization V
Ah, that explains it, thanks! We failed to set up a game last weekend: shall we try again the coming weekend?
Re: Civilization V
Sure, could we start it before the weekend? I have to go on vacation on Sunday.

Re: Civilization V
I usually set up Civ games because I usually have the best computer set up for running servers out of everyone who's playing. But I guess it really dosn't matter, just don't make the world really odd. No Pangea.
