I've been working on banners for all four factions for a bit. The Aettera banner is done, but I want to hear your opinions on the other banners first.
Here they are:

The green banner is for the Aettir: their symbol is the wolf, the king of the forest.

The yellow banner was made for the Erokki. As their city is called Dragon's Landing, and seem to worship the Enderdragon, I chose a dragon as their symbol.

The blue banner is for the Icecarls. The symbol represents a magical orb, which seems fitting for a faction of wizards.

The red banner, last of all, was made for the Hydrates. I wasn't entirely sure what to make for them, so I tried to make a skull, as the Hydrates are a lot like undead pirates.

What do you think of the banners?

If you'd like to make your own, please do so! I'd like it though if you use the same style as the other banners (13x10 blocks for the banner, 11x8 for the actual symbol). I want to use the banners to create headers for each faction's description, and it would be nice if everything is consistent in style.

Could you try to make an animal instead of a magic orb? Because it just dosn't compete with the Jolly Roger, a wolf and a dragon.

I made a symbol on the server with a closed mouth. It should be on the crappy trading ship I made. Razz

Also, what will become of the Pyrorks? Will they just be zombie pigmen up in Mt. Chardoom?

It's a bit small: only 5x4 blocks, whereas the others are all 11x8 blocks big. It wouldn't fit on your smaller ship, but the new ship actually has a sail of 11x8 blocks (the corners are cut off, but it could still fit on there). Could you try to increase its size, and add some more details?

The Burnt Belt is now just inhabited by zombie pigmen and ghasts, yeah. It'll be a way to collect Nether resources without having to visit the Nether! I'm guessing the Pyrorks are gone entirely, but maybe Notix still has some plans for them.

I'd love to trademark it, but it's too expensive for me right now. I also have no idea what the exact requirements for a trademark request are, nor how the entire process works, so even if I had the money I'm not sure if I even could...

Speaking of, I might actually join the rp, but I probably won't run a race or anything. I'm thinking of being a Lawless Vagabond or something like that. Probably like a thief stashing treasures in a thieve's hollow or something.

That's what I'm trying to figure out, all the races info is 10+ pages back I think

EDIT: I'll figure it out later when I make a character. The race information starts at page 14. But I'll probably choose either a crafty or greedy race.

You'd suit a Hyrate. We're basically Pirates/Mercs with 1 port to call home. Heck I'm probably going to have to pay my followers to follow orders...

I'm sure I could set up a small boathouse thingy for you to call home. Plus we have pubs Very Happy

I agree with Notix, a lawless vagabond or thief would probably align best with the Hyrates. The description of the Aettir might be a bit outdated - I'll write a new, better description soon!

I've also made a quick example of the artwork we'll use in the Minecraft forum thread. These banners will be used as the headers of each faction's description:

We definitely need some sort of plot system, so you can only edit your own plot.
Maybe also a limit to how many blocks per hour you can mine in the wild, to seriously cut down on enviro-griefers.

I am also happy to report that the forum's useless "Can you turn on the server" comments' population has been effectively nuked to oblivion.
