Re: Sprite Submission
Yeah legs are tough.
I prefer the first one since it looks more spritey and less "art"-y. It's heard to describe, except it's more defined.

Re: Sprite Submission
Below:
Goads, a small, peaceful until disturbed species that likes to be in herds. Could be our version of EXP rats.
Rock and jungle types, both Passive and aggresive. Maybe used in low level summoning spells?
It looks a lot better when small like aegonian's.
Also, the eye could possibly be a level up picture for low levels?

Re: Sprite Submission
I may or may not try to build some 64x64 sprites soon, to see if they'll look any better (the legs should be easier to make, and so should the face and such).
Will those goads have sprites from different angles, too? Or will they be more like Goombas as far as animation goes?

Re: Sprite Submission
I made several 64x64 Aegi sprites, but wasn't happy with any of them until now:
What do you think? Should I continue these sprites, or stick to 32x32?

I think 32x32 is better, since then we can use less images for the animation.
If we jerkily moved between 2 64x64 images it looks worse than 2 32x32.

Btw why are the ears so big?

Re: Sprite Submission
Those of the Aegi? They have always been very large. In the smilies and sprites, their size has been exaggerated to make them easier to recognize and such.
The reason for the Aegi to have large ears is that it grants them improved hearing abilities, as the ear can collect more sounds when its pinna (the visible part of the ear) is larger.

Re: Sprite Submission
I think the 64x64 look... Weird. The 32x32 are more cute and easier to make. And look less awkward. (Awkward is awkward to write)
